Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) is the process by which cities or counties can form entities to buy electricity in bulk for their residents, giving them an alternative to the local utility. These CCAs have goals of increasing renewable energy and funding solar and other such projects in their areas. On June 21, 2016 speakers from active CCAs in the Bay Area spoke about their process, prices, solar programs, and how they interface with customers and the local utility.
